A new hydropower plant will supply energy to the Central Asia states.

The authorities of Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan are preparing to set up a company to build a new hydropower plant. The focus is the project of the Kambar-Ata hydropower plant on the Naryn River in Kyrgyzstan, Gazeta.uz reported.

According to the proposed plan, electricity generated by the new power plant will be purchased by the Central Asian states. The new hydropower plant will be managed by consensus. The project envisages setting up a joint-stock company in Kyrgyzstan.

Earlier, the energy ministers of Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, Zhurabek Mirzamakhmudov, Bolat Akchulakov and Taalaibek Ibraev, signed a joint road map. This document sets forth all the key aspects of the implementation of the Kambar-Ata HPP project.
