President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev received Minister of National Defence of the People’s Republic of China Dong Jun, who is on an official visit in the country, the press office of the President of the Republic reports.
The President noted the contribution made by the guest to strengthen friendly relations and mutually beneficial cooperation. Tokayev emphasised that Kazakhstan-China relations have reached the level of comprehensive strategic partnerships.
The President underscored that the two countries share views on key issues of regional and international security. The two sides are ready for constructive dialogue and mutual support within the international organisations, including the UN and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev supported the China’s initiatives to promote global development, security and civilization, considering them a positive contribution to international security.
The Minister of National Defence of the People’s Republic of China expressed gratitude for the hospitality and noted the excellent organisation of the meeting of the defence ministers of the SCO Member States.
