Kassym-Zomart Tokayev receives UK Foreign Secretary David Cameron

Tokayev expressed satisfaction with the progress of bilateral relations.

President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zomart Tokayev met with UK Foreign Secretary David Cameron to discuss the prospects of bilateral cooperation, the press office of Akorda reports. The dialogue focused on strengthening strategic partnerships between the two countries.

Tokayev expressed satisfaction with the progress of relations with the UK and emphasised the importance of the Strategic Partnerships Agreement, which opens up new opportunities for cooperation in energy, green economy, finance and innovation.

Cameron thanked for the warm welcome and noted that he visited Kazakhstan 11 years ago. He underscored the readiness to strengthen contacts in energy, education, business and culture and emphasised the importance of supporting youth and educational initiatives.

The interlocutors discussed cultural and humanitarian relations, as well as issues of regional and international politics. They expressed the willingness to promote cooperation and exchanged views on current regional stability and global political issues.
