On May 2, a meeting of the State Security Council of Turkmenistan took place in Ashgabat. President Serdar Berdimuhamedov instructed Minister of Justice Merettagan Taganov to take measures to improve legal literacy of the population, Turkmenistan: Golden Age reported.
Serdar Berdimuhamedov ordered effective measures be taken to ensure citizens have access to qualified legal aid. It is required in relation with the ongoing justice reform in the country, which is accompanied by the adoption of new important laws in all areas of public relations, the President stated.
Merettagan Taganov reported on the comprehensive steps taken in the reporting period to improve the national legal framework and develop proposals for the modernisation of the legal acts designed to facilitate the accelerated achievement of the goals and objectives of progressive reforms in various segments of the economy.
