President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov sent the Welcoming Address to the participants of the Ancient Amul Fortress: Keeper of the Secrets of the Past International Science and Practical Conference, Turkmenistan: Golden Age reported.
The conference has started in Turkmenabat, Lebap velayat on April 26. The forum was organised by the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan, the National Commission for UNESCO and the Lebap velayat administration.
In his address, the President emphasises that Amul is part of the Zarafshan-Karakum section of the Great Silk Road and a witness to intense historical events that took place in the Turkmen land in ancient times. This forum will contribute to expanding cultural and humanitarian relations among the countries of the East.
«In the era of the Revival of the new epoch of the powerful state, we are consistently enhancing cooperation with the states of the world and international organisations in the study and preservation of historical and cultural monuments and the rich ancient history of our people for future generations,» President Serdar Berdimuhamedov said in his address.
The President noted that along with Merv, Gurganj, Nisa, Abiverd, Dehistan and Serakhs, ancient Amul was one of the largest scientific, cultural and economic centres of the East. The historical figures, who are natives of Amul, made a significant contribution to science and art.
The President mentioned the historical and natural sites of Turkmenistan inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
«The monuments Ancient Merv, the Parthian fortresses of Nisa and Kunyaurgench, the Great Silk Road: Zarafshan-Karakum Corridor, the State Nature Reserves Bereketli Garagum and Gaplangyr, the Repetek State Biosphere Reserve and the desert ecosystems in the Ýerajy reserve. This fact highlights the significant role of our Fatherland on the international cultural arena and raises its worldwide authority,» the President noted.
In conclusion, the President of Turkmenistan congratulated once again the participants on the start of the forum and wished them good health, happiness, prosperity and creative achievements.
