A delegation of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic, led by Temir Sariev, arrived in the Chinese city of Xi’an to discuss the prospects of trade and economic cooperation with China. The agenda focused on the construction of a large rail port in the Republic, the press office of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Kyrgyzstan reported.
The Kyrgyz delegation held an official meeting with the top managers of the Xi’an inland port, through which containers are transported to Central Asia, Russia and European countries. It is planned to build a similar logistics hub in Kyrgyzstan.
This project is of particular importance for Kyrgyzstan. The top managers of the Chinese inland port emphasised that they are interested in the implementation of this project in Kyrgyzstan.
Earlier, the initiative to build a port was discussed at the meeting between President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov and President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping. The two leaders supported the idea.
