President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon addressed the nation at the opening ceremony of the Khujand fortress and called on Tajik citizens to focus their efforts on developing their home country, as well as boosting domestic production instead of earning money abroad, the press office of the President of Tajikistan reported.
Emphasising that the current global situation is difficult and tense, the President underscored the importance of focusing on creating industries, encouraging businesses and improving the living standards in Tajikistan.
Rahmon expressed belief that all the conditions conducive to the implementation of these plans exist. He emphasised the huge potential of Tajik crafts such as satin making, silk weaving, carpet making, jewellery making and wood carving.
Emomali Rahmon called on citizens to begin preparing for the significant dates — the 30th anniversary of the adoption of the first Constitution of Tajikistan and the 35th anniversary of independence and mark these milestones with significant achievements in various fields of activity.
