President of Turkmenistan congratulates on opening of Anau as Cultural Capital of Turkic World

Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasised that the city has many monuments of national culture and bygone epochs.

On March 25, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov congratulated the participants in the opening events marking the declaration of Anau city as the Cultural Capital of Turkic World 2024, Turkmenistan: Golden Age reported.

«Today, independent neutral Turkmenistan, consistently enhancing partnerships with different countries on the planet and international organisations, remains committed to the status of permanent neutrality, which enables us to successfully pursue the course towards maintaining peace and ties of friendship and brotherhood on a global scale. Cultural and humanitarian dialogue with members of the world community, particularly with the Turkic states, comes to the fore of the targeted cultural policy, which is progressive,» the President noted.

Anau is one of the ancient cities that played a major role in the history of the Turkmen people, Serdar Berdimuhamedov said. It has many monuments of national culture and bygone epochs. In 1904, archaeological excavation was conducted on the Anau mounds, which resulted in discovering extensive valuable information about the agricultural civilisation that rapidly developed in this region during the Chalcolithic Period.

«I hope that the upcoming cultural events marking the declaration of Anau city as the Cultural Capital of Turkic World 2024 will further strengthen ties of friendship and brotherhood among the TURKSOY members. I firmly believe that all these events will contribute to creative partnerships among cultural workers and artists of our countries,» the President of Turkmenistan said.
