President of Turkmenistan receives Vice President at EBRD

Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Mark Bowman focused on cooperation in agriculture.

On March 14, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov met with Vice President at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) Mark Bowman in Ashgabat. The parties exchanged views on priority aspects of cooperation, Turkmenistan: Golden Age reported.

Berdimuhamedov and Bowman discussed the potential involvement of the EBRD in the ongoing sustainable energy projects and initiatives in Turkmenistan. They identified the transport sector as a key area of cooperation. In this context, the parties dwelt on the prospects for intensifying international traffic across the Caspian Sea using the capacities of the Turkmenbashi international seaport to increase throughput.

The President of Turkmenistan and the Vice President at the EBRD discussed cooperation in agriculture. In this regard, they considered promoting interaction between the relevant Turkmen departments and this financial institution on the construction of irrigation facilities and the use of high-tech equipment.

Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Mark Bowman dwelt on cooperation of the Turkmen banks and private companies with the EBRD. In this regard, the President of Turkmenistan and the foreign guest discussed the prospects for building contacts to extend loans to small- and medium-sized enterprises and provide consultancy services.
