EDB considers projects worth $3.5 billion for Kazakhstan

Particular attention will be paid to the strategic sectors.

President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev met with Chairman of the Management Board of the Eurasian Development Bank Nikolai Podguzov, the Telegram channel of Akorda reports.

Nikolai Podguzov said EDB’s annual investment in Kazakhstan’s economy has exceeded $1 billion for the second year in a row. In 2022-2023, EDB invested $4.2 billion, which is almost 1.5 times more than planned by the 2022-2026 Strategy.

The share of the projects implemented in Kazakhstan in the EDB’s portfolio continues to increase and made up 59% by the end of 2023.

The President was informed that the potential projects, which the Bank is going to implement in Kazakhstan in 2024, exceeds $3.5 billion. Particular attention will be paid to such strategic sectors as transport infrastructure, thermal energy, renewable energy, industry, agriculture and water resources.
