On January 22-23, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov is leading a delegation to Japan for a working visit, the press office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan reported.
The Turkmen side plans to hold meetings with representatives of the Government, Parliament, ministries and departments. The delegation will hold talks with the top managers of financial and export credit agencies and major Japanese companies.
The parties will discuss fostering interstate dialogue, expanding contacts through interparliamentary cooperation and promoting political, diplomatic, trade, economic, scientific and educational interaction.
In 2023, Rashid Meredov met with a delegation led by Chairman of the Secretariat of the Japan-Turkmenistan Parliamentary Friendship League of the Parliament of Japan Shinpei Matsushita.
The Turkmen side highly evaluated political contacts between the two countries that have reached a qualitatively new level.
