Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan meets with Deputy Prime Minister of Russia

Akylbek Zhaparov and Alexey Overchuk held regular talks to discuss expanding cooperation between Russia and Kyrgyzstan.

Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Alexey Overchuk and Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Akylbek Zhaparov held a meeting in Moscow, the press office of the Government of the Russian Federation reported.

The meeting focused on priority tasks for expanding economic and trade cooperation between the two countries. The interlocutors exchanged views on issues in such areas as education, energy, industrial associations and interactions between the regions of Russia and Kyrgyzstan.

Zhaparov and Overchuk focused on the implementation of the construction project of 9 Russian-Kyrgyz schools in Kyrgyzstan that would provide training in the Russian language.

«The interlocutors discussed in detail <…> the preparations for the 11th Russia-Kyrgyzstan Interregional Conference and the 25th meeting of the Intergovernmental Russia-Kyrgyzstan Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific, Technical and Humanitarian Cooperation,» the press office of the Kremlin reports.
