According to the National Bureau of Statistics of Kazakhstan, 834,900 foreign tourists visited the country from January to September 2023, which is 225,000 tourists more than last year. This is an 37% increase compared to the same period in 2022, when 609,800 foreign nationals visited the country, the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of Kazakhstan reported.
The geography of foreign tourists visiting Kazakhstan, including travellers from distant foreign countries such as India and the USA, is expanding with every passing year. The Russian Federation continues to hold first place in the number of tourists arriving in Kazakhstan in the first 9 months of 2023, standing at 356,850 tourists. A significant number of tourists arrived from China (75,131), Turkey (41,134), India (34,757) and the USA (28,160).
Deputy Minister of Tourism and Sports of Kazakhstan Yerzhan Erkinbayev expressed hope that this trend will continue to grow thanks to the unique beautiful places and attractions of the Republic, as well as the measures taken by the Ministry to ensure that every tourist visiting the country receives a wonderful experience.
