The Turkmen schoolchildren won bronze medals at the 58th International Mendeleev Chemistry Olympiad. The Olympiad was held at the Russian-Chinese MSU-PP University in Shenzhen, China on April 21- 26, Turkmenistan: Golden Age reports.
11th graders Shatlyk Batyrov, Aigul Atajanova and Jeren Akmyradova and 10th grader Rustem Jumaev performed at the Olympiad under the guidance of a teacher from Saparmurat Turkmenbashi Specialised Boarding School Nazar Mamedov.
151 schoolchildren from 26 countries have taken part in the Olympiad. Olympiad participants solve the problems which are traditionally more difficult than those offered at the International Chemistry Olympiad.
The Olympiad includes two theoretical rounds and one practical round, in which the Turkmen schoolchildren demonstrated their profound knowledge and practical skills.
This year, the International Mendeleev Chemistry Olympiad has taken place outside the CIS for the first time. It was timed to mark the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China.
