Tajikistan increases honey production

Over the 11 months of 2023, more than 4,500 tonnes of honey were collected in apiaries.

In January-November 2023, Tajikistan increased honey production by 3 percent compared to the same period in 2022 and reached 4,552.7 tonnes, the Khovar National News Agency reports, quoting the Statistics Agency under the President of Tajikistan.

According to official statistics, last year, 1,556 tonnes of honey were collected in Sughd Region, and 1,144.2 tonnes in Khatlon Region. 58.2 tonnes were collected in GBAO, and 1,794.3 tonnes — in cities and regions of republican subordination.

Beekeeping is developing, and honey production is growing in the Republic thanks to state support. President of the Republic Emomali Rahmon signed the Law On Beekeeping. The Government adopted several resolutions regulating beekeeping activities, and 4 state beekeeping development programmes were implemented, which contributed to the industry growth in all the regions of the country.
