43 schools in Kazakhstan built with money seized in corruption purge last year

The regions received nearly 55,000 new school places.

In 2023, 43 schools were built and put into operation in Kazakhstan with the money seized in corruption purge, the press office of the Ministry of Education of the Republic, headed by Gani Beisembayev, reports.

The construction of new educational institutions solved the problem of 3 schools in an emergency and 13 three-shift schools.

The new schools created 54,400 school places in the regions. Most of the schools are located in Almaty and Turkestan regions — 8 schools in each region, and 10 schools in the capital city.

As was reported, the Education Infrastructure Support Fund financed the construction of 62 schools (76,738 places) in total; the projects cost over 96 billion tenge. The funds have been transferred to the accounts of local executive bodies.
