Authorities of Uzbekistan reorganise National Commission on Combating Trafficking in Persons

The President approved its main tasks and additional measures by special decree.

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed the Decree approving additional measures to combat trafficking in persons and implement the concept of decent work in the Republic, the press office of the Ministry of Justice of Uzbekistan reported to CentralAsia.news.

In accordance with the Decree, the National Commission on Combating Trafficking in Persons and Forced Labour has undergone changes. A new National Commission has been set up and will be divided into two subcommittees.

One of the subcommittees will be responsible for preventing and suppressing trafficking in persons. It will be headed by Minister of Internal Affairs Pulat Bobojonov. The second subcommittee will be responsible for promoting decent work. It will be headed by Minister of Employment and Poverty Reduction Bekhzod Musayev. The activities of territorial commissions aimed at combating trafficking in persons and promoting decent work will be coordinated by the municipal and regional authorities.
