President Shavkat Mirziyoyev reviewed the proposals on the development of Uzbekistan’s automotive and agricultural engineering industries. The Uzbek leader set the task to increase domestic car production to 1 million units by 2030, the press office of the President of the Republic reported to CentralAsia.news.
The President was informed that car production is expected to reach 415,000 units by the end of 2023 and continue to grow in the following years. By 2030, car production is expected to reach 1 million units.
Particular attention will be paid to bolstering electric car production. Local automakers have started working to fulfil the above task and are set to launch a plant capable of manufacturing up to 10,000 electric vehicles per year in 2024.
