Kazakhstan to prohibit people under 25 from visiting casinos

Debtors on loans and alimony will be prohibited from visiting this kind of establishments as well.

Kazakhstan is considering raising the age limit for visiting casinos and participating in lotteries to fight against gambling addiction among citizens. Minister of Tourism and Sports of Kazakhstan Ermek Marzhikpayev reported on the amendments to the laws, Interfax reports.

According to the Minister, parliamentarians have compiled the list of proposed legislative amendments that will impose restrictions on casinos, bookmakers and lotteries. These restrictions include an increase in the age limit for visiting this kind of establishments.

The amendments propose changing the age limit for visiting casinos and bookmakers to 25 years of age and setting an age limit of 21 years for citizens of Kazakhstan to participate in lotteries.

Marzhikpaev noted that the amendments proposed by parliamentarians envisage prohibiting debtors on loans and alimony from visiting this kind of establishments as well.
