The X Regional Conference of Russian Compatriots from neighbouring countries took place in Bishkek. Chairman of the Council of the People’s Assembly of Kyrgyzstan Almambet Matubraimov addressed the forum, the Sputnik reports the details.
The event took place at the Plaza Hotel Bishkek on November 25. Matubraimov said Kyrgyzstan needs the Russian language, as it is considered native and used as an official language. He emphasised that Kyrgyzstan and Russia have grown together in soul over the past hundred years, and relations between them will become stronger.
The participants discussed the protection of the rights of compatriots who reside abroad. They focused on preserving the Russian world through the Russian language and supporting the interaction of compatriot associations with the regions of Russia. The representatives of Russia, including Chargé d’Affaires of the Russian Federation in the Kyrgyz Republic Vadim Gusev and the members of the Committee of the Federation Council and the State Duma attended the forum.
