Almaty Mayor’s Office inspects unfinished buildings

Some of these buildings may be demolished, and others will be brought back to the normative condition.

The inspections of the unfinished buildings in Almaty, which may be demolished, have started, Sputnik reported.

According to the press office of Almaty Akimat, headed by Erbolat Dosayev, there are currently 17 construction projects in the city that have been frozen at various stages since 1988. The inspections were initiated by city residents.

The Mayor’s Office reported that the unfinished buildings are causing concern among city residents due to potential safety and access risks for children. Based on the results of the inspections, orders will be issued to eliminate the violations. If necessary, legal action will be taken to enforce the orders.

As reported, the buildings that pose a real danger to the life and health of citizens may be demolished.

The press office of the Almaty Mayor’s Office highlighted the need to conserve facilities if construction work has stopped or suspended for more than 6 months to ensure safety of city residents and the environment.
