On October 17, National leader of the Turkmen people Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov arrived in Beijing for a working visit, the Turkmenistan Today National News Agency reports.
Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov will take part in the Third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation, which will be held on October 17-18. He will hold talks with President Xi Jinping.
One Belt, One Road is a China’s international initiative aimed at modernising existing and building new trade and transport corridors that connect more than 60 countries in Central Asia, Europe and Africa. This initiative is to promote trade relations between these countries and China.
The priority areas of Turkmenistan-China cooperation include the oil and gas sector, in which the gas pipeline project, which ensures supplies of Turkmen «blue fuel» to China, is a symbol of success of mutually beneficial relations.
