Dushanbe hosts First Clean Games

Activists collected almost 200 kg of litter from the coast.

A two-day traineeship for eco-activists from different cities of the country took place in the capital of Tajikistan. The Clean Games Project organisers participated in the event and arrived at the Russian House in Tajikistan for a few days, the Telegram channel Rossotrudnichestvo reports.

30 countries around the world have hosted the Clean Games. This is a team competition aimed at cleaning up natural spaces from litter. The teams of participants must collect and sort the litter, find artefacts and solve environmental puzzles. They earn points for each action.

In September, the National Cleanup Cup is to be held in Tajikistan, and then the country plans to present its team at the big Eurasian stage. Eco-volunteers discussed the staging of such events and methods of environmental education for children and youth during their traineeship.

The participants had an opportunity to apply their knowledge in practice by holding the trial Clean Games. It took the teams one hour to collect and sort about 200 kg of litter from the coast along the Dushanbinka River.
