President Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev commented on the report on the social and economic development of Mangistau Region for the first 7 months of 2023 and the plans for the coming period. Mangistau Region Akim Nurlan Nogayev presented the report, the Telegram channel of Akorda reported.
The Akim reported on the measures taken to fulfil the instructions to address drinking water shortages. For this purpose, 6 projects are being implemented in the region, which will increase the volume of water desalination by 146,000 cubic metres by 2025.
The President was informed about the measures taken to improve housing and communal services, modernise an engineering infrastructure in Aktau and reconstruct the Mangistau nuclear power plant.
This year, 9.4 billion tenge have been allocated for repair works at the Mangistau nuclear power plant, including 6.8 billion tenge from the investment programme and 2.6 billion tenge from the funds of the Mangistau Region Akimat. On the instructions of the President, 4.9 billion tenge were allocated from the government funds to purchase equipment.
