Dushanbe breaks landscaping records

This year, large-scale landscaping and urban beautification work has been done in Dushanbe. Speaking at a press conference, First Deputy Chairman of Dushanbe Jamshed Tabarzoda said over the past six months, 14.4 million bulbs of seasonal and perennial flowers, as well as lawns on an area of 99,600 square metres, have been planted in the capital of Tajikistan, Khovar reported.

Since the beginning of the year, more than 165,000 trees and shrubs have been planted on the city streets. 1.6 million seeds of seasonal flowers were planted in greenhouses, which will be replanted in flower beds throughout the city by winter and spring. They will adorn the streets, alleys and parks. More than 8,000 trees from abroad were brought and planted in Dushanbe to diversify vegetation in the capital city.

Particular attention was paid to the Sayri Guli Lola flower festival, which aimed to intensify landscaping and urban beautification work in the capital city. 9.8 million flower bulbs, including 5.7 million tulip bulbs, were planted during the Festival.
