Minister of Ecology Aziz Abdukhakimov met with newly appointed Ambassador of China to Uzbekistan Yu Jun to discuss environmental issues and the prospects of cooperation in this area. The meeting took place after Yu Jun was appointed as new ambassador of China to Uzbekistan on July 12, the press office of the Government of Uzbekistan reported to CentralAsia.news.
Yu Jun expressed his joy and satisfaction with the successful steps taken by Uzbekistan to protect the environment. These measures contribute not only to environmental safety, but also to the dynamic development of the country. In this regard, Yu Jun invited the Minister of Ecology to attend the Belt and Road Forum, which will be held in Beijing on October 16.
The forum is of great importance since it provides an opportunity to exchange experience and knowledge in environmental issues. China has extensive experience in the successful transition to a green economy that can be useful for Uzbekistan. The Minister noted that Uzbekistan is ready to invite an expert from China who would provide consultation on ecology, environmental protection and investment in green technologies.
