On July 13, First Deputy Chairman of the Committee for Environmental Protection of Tajikistan Zarafo Kiyomzoda met with Economic and Environmental Affairs Officer at the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) Programme Office in Dushanbe Rati Japaridze to discuss the preparations for the Aarhus Centres Annual Meeting, which will be held in the capital of Tajikistan on October 17-18, the press office of the Committee reported to CentralAsia.news.
The interlocutors noted that the participants of the Aarhus Centres Annual Meeting, representing about 60 Aarhus Centres from 14 countries, will discuss three main issues on the agenda: the role of the Aarhus Centres in promoting public participation in environmental decision-making, the enhancement of the guiding principles of the «green» economy and the management of hazardous waste.
Following the talks, the interlocutors agreed that the OSCE Programme Office would develop the programme of the Annual Meeting in the near future and submit it for approval to the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of Tajikistan.
