Government of Kazakhstan reviews preparations for heating season

The reports on the state of heating networks in the regions and the progress of building and repair works were presented during the government meeting.

Kazakhstan is starting preparations for the upcoming heating season; the state of heating networks in the regions of the country was discussed during a regular government meeting, which was held on July 12, the press office of the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure Development of Kazakhstan reported.

Minister Marat Karabaev reported that the depreciation percentage for heating networks is 51 percent on average. Heating networks in Pavlodar, Karaganda, East Kazakhstan and Ulytau Regions are most worn out.

The election programme of the President of Kazakhstan envisages reducing the depreciation percentage for heating networks to 40 percent by 2030. This year, the state has allocated more than 86 billion tenge for the modernisation of 126 kilometres of heating networks. In the first three months of 2023, 23 kilometres of new networks were built, and repair work is underway on existing networks.

The working group members visit the regions to monitor preparations for the winter heating season. 14 regions have applied for the reconstruction of more than 87 kilometres of heating networks.
