Turkmenistan and China to expand security cooperation

The issue was discussed at the 8th meeting of the subcommittee on security partnerships.

On July 12, Deputy Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and the People’s Republic of China Vepa Hajiyev and Ma Zhaoxu held the 8th meeting of the Subcommittee on security issues of the Turkmen-Chinese Committee for Cooperation. They discussed the importance of expanding relevant interaction, as reported by the press office of the Chinese MFA.

Attention was paid to the issues of maintaining security at the international and regional levels. The parties agreed that now it is necessary to continue joint work in ensuring stability in the world.

The officials considered the implementation of the agreements reached by the presidents of the countries. Emphasis was also placed on the need to improve partnership mechanisms in the relevant area.

At the end of the meeting, the deputy foreign ministers signed a protocol.

The seventh meeting of the Subcommittee on security issues of the Turkmen-Chinese Committee for Cooperation was held on June 24, 2021. During that meeting, the officials discussed the situation in Afghanistan and the fight against terrorism.
