Afghanistan is fully prepared to implement TAPI project

The statement was made by the acting minister of mines and petroleum Delawar.

Acting Minister of Mines and Petroleum of Afghanistan Shahabuddin Delawar said that the republic is fully prepared to implementat the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline project. According to him, the security issue has been resolved. It was reported by the TV news network TOLOnews on March 8.

The official stressed that there are no problems in Afghanistan in the framework of the construction of the pipeline. The relevant work will be continued in the near future, the authorities will make every effort in this direction, he added.

Delawar underlined that the security level is high, and the partners of the TAPI project already know that.

An annual capacity of the gas pipeline will be 33 billion cubic meters. The project has already received approval from the Russian Federation, the United States of America and a number of other states. It costs about 8-10 billion US dollars.
