On February 10, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with the Tashkent mahalla activists in Jambay district during his working visit to Samarkand Region, the press office of the President of Uzbekistan reported.
The Uzbek leader talked to the mahalla residents, khokim assistants and youth leaders about the mahalla surveys results and further actions to address existing problems, organize young people’s leisure time, promote mass sport and provide vocational training for the unemployed.
More than 4,000 people live in the Tashkent mahalla; there are a school for 1,000 children, a kindergarten and a music school. In 2022, about 66.5 billion soums of soft loans will be allocated to Jambay district to encourage entrepreneurial activity, reduce unemployment and support the mahallabay system.
President Mirziyoyev visited the Samarkand international airport after large-scale reconstruction and the Imam Bukhari mausoleum and inspected the progress of construction of the Silk Road Samarkand tourist centre and modernisation of local road infrastructure during his visit to Samarkand Region.
