Dmitry Turaev was appointed Consul General of the Russian Federation in Almaty by order of the RF Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the press office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation reports.
Dmitry Aleksandrovich Turaev was born in 1968 and graduated from Moscow State Institute of International Relations of the RF Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1993. He speaks French and English.
As reported, Turaev received the diplomatic ranks of 1st Class Counsellor in 2017 and 3rd Class Counsellor in 2006.
He has been working for the diplomatic services since 1993 and held diplomatic positions in the Central Office of the Ministry and foreign diplomatic missions of the Russian Federation. From 1994 to 1998, he held the positions of Duty Assistant, Senior Assistant Secretary and Attaché of the Embassy of Russia in France. From 2001 to 2005, he worked as Second Secretary of the Permanent Delegation of Russia to UNESCO in Paris, and from 2008 to 2014, he worked as First Secretary and Counsellor of the Embassy of Russia in Mauritius.
From 2018 to 2023, Turaev served as Head of a department of the Consular Department of the RF Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Previously, Evgeniy Bobrov held this position in Kazakhstan.
