Bishkek hosts meeting of CIS Council of Foreign Ministers

The event took place before the CIS Summit.

On October 12, a meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Commonwealth of Independent States, chaired by Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Jeenbek Kulubaev, was held in Bishkek. This is the second meeting this year, which is held under Kyrgyzstan’s chairmanship of the CIS, the press office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan reported.

Discussing the current issues on the international agenda, the heads of delegations exchanged views on the state and prospects of political, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation within the CIS.

In his speech, Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeenbek Kulubaev noted that the key achievements of the CIS include trusting political relations aimed at further integration. He emphasised that under Kyrgyzstan’s chairmanship, efforts were made to advance the 30-year experience in the functioning of the Commonwealth and expand multilateral cooperation among the Member States.

The decision was made to hold the next meeting of the CIS Council of Foreign Ministers in Minsk on April 12, 2024.
