Uzbekistan inflation rate drops to 1.38% in January-February

During the reporting period, exports of goods and services increased by 20%, exceeding US$1.7 billion compared to the same period in 2021.

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting on the social and economic development of the sectors and regions. The inflation rate in Uzbekistan was 1.38% in January-February; it was 1.7% in the same period last year. During the reporting period, exports of goods and services increased by 20%, exceeding US$ 1.7 billion compared to the same period in 2021, the press office of the President of Uzbekistan reported to CentralAsia.news.

In two months of 2022, foreign investments amounted to US$ 687 million were used, and about 7,000 new jobs were created. During the reporting period, exports of domestically produced building materials doubled, exports of electrical products increased 1.5 times and exports of textiles, fruits and vegetables increased 1.3 times.

Dwelling on price stability, the Uzbek leader tasked the heads of departments and regions to take additional measures to control market price fluctuation, provide the domestic food markets with products and goods in sufficient quantity and stockpile an adequate supply of these items.
