Kazakbaev and Lavrov discuss migrant worker issues in Kyrgyzstan and Russia

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan visited Russia to mark the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Ruslan Kazakbaev paid an official visit to Moscow to mark the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Russia and Kyrgyzstan and held talks with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov, the press office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan reports.

Much attention was paid to key issues of trade, economic, investment, cultural, humanitarian and interregional cooperation, as well as the implementation of bilateral agreements.

In the context of Kyrgyzstan’s Chairmanship in the EAEU this year, Kazakbaev expressed belief that the two countries will jointly achieve the goals and priorities to further boost integration processes.

The foreign ministers discussed the issues related to migrant workers from Kyrgyzstan in Russia.

Due to the difficulties in undergoing health checks and submitting fingerprints in Russia, the Kyrgyz foreign minister suggested that the Russian side consider the possibility of allowing citizens of Kyrgyzstan to undergo these procedures on the territory of Kyrgyzstan.
