Kyrgyzstan calls on SCO Member States to promote transport and logistics ties

The ministers discussed the preparations for the upcoming SCO Summit in New Delhi and exchanged views on urgent regional and international issues.

On May 5, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Jeenbek Kulubaev took part in the SCO Council of Foreign Ministers (CMFA) Meeting, which was held in the Indian city of Panaji, the press office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan reported.

The foreign ministers discussed the preparations for the upcoming SCO Summit in New Delhi and the admission of Belarus and Iran to the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation. They also exchanged views on urgent regional and international issues.

In his speech, Kulubaev highlighted the need to implement the Decision of the SCO leaders to improve the mechanism for countering challenges and threats to security of the SCO Member States at the initiatives of all the SCO Member States.

With the aim of strengthening the transport potential of the region, the Minister emphasised the need to put in more effort to promote transport and logistics ties among the SCO Member States.

Following the meeting, the ministers signed the decisions of the SCO Council of Foreign Ministers on the promotion of cooperation within the organisation.
