On March 10, First Vice Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic Artyom Novikov had a meeting with the actors and top managers of Abdylas Maldybaev National Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre and the staff of the Ministry of Culture, Information, Sports and Youth Policy. The recent incident when the performance at the Theatre had been disrupted was discussed, the press office of the Government of Kyrgyzstan reported.
What frustrated and saddened most was that the spectators were aggrieved by that situation; the theatre was full of people who wanted to get aesthetic pleasure, the Vice Prime Minister said.
Novikov noted that such situations should not happen again and instructed to address the problems immediately.
The Vice Prime Minister noted that the Government intended to introduce new approaches in the field of culture.
The Vice Prime Minister instructed the Ministry of Finance to deliberate on the provisions in the legislation regulating the salaries of actors who perform in theatre productions held jointly with private organisations.
As was reported, the performance of Swan Lake was scheduled for March 6 at 17:00. A local troupe appeared on the stage and announced that it had refused to perform together with the artists from the Russian Federation.
