Nurlanbek Shakiyev noted great progress in education made by the two countries: students from Uzbekistan study at universities in Kyrgyzstan.
Tanzila Narbaeva emphasised that Kyrgyzstan is an important partner of Uzbekistan: bilateral relations are based on common values, friendship and cooperation. She focused on promoting cultural ties and conducting the commemorative events in honour of the great writer Chingiz Aitmatov.
The issues under discussion included tourism. The parties expressed the willingness to expand opportunities in tourism and attract more tourists from Uzbekistan to Kyrgyzstan.
The meeting with Speaker of the lower house of Parliament of Uzbekistan Nuriddin Ismailov focused on key aspects of political, economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation.
