Minister of Culture of Tajikistan Matlubakhon Sattoriyon announced plans to regulate blogging activities at the press conference. She said measures will be taken in two fields — legal and social, Asia-Plus reports.
To achieve these goals, it is planned to amend the Law On the Press and Other Mass Media. It will set up a legal framework for blogging activities. The Minister noted that measures are being taken to improve media literacy of citizens and raise the level of culture in society.
These initiatives are aimed at creating a more responsible media environment and fostering information culture in the country.
The draft law on blogging activities has been discussed by the authorities of the Republic for several years. The authors said the law provides for, inter alia, at legal regulation of blogging activities and protects the rights of bloggers at the legislative level. However, the very fact of its existence triggered a hail of discussions on the Internet among citizens of Tajikistan.
