Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan set to jointly build tourist centres

The centres will be built taking into account natural diversity and geological landscape of the countries.

On January 25, President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov met with President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev during an informal visit. The meeting took place in the Amirsoy ski resort in Tashkent Region, the press office of the President of Uzbekistan reported.

The interlocutors discussed key issues of bilateral cooperation, international politics and regional interaction. Sadyr Japarov expressed admiration for the modern infrastructure of the Amirsoy resort, noting that it meets international standards.

The two leaders agreed to develop joint projects of resort and recreation centres, using the natural potential of the two countries.

Sadyr Japarov emphasised that though mountains cover 94% of the territory of Kyrgyzstan, political and social problems have kept ski tourism promotion out of focus.
