The construction of a 100MW solar power plant started in Chui Region. Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Adylbek Kasymaliev attended the capsule-laying ceremony. The project is being implemented with the support from Chinese investors and the Government of Shaanxi Province, the press office of the Government of Kyrgyzstan reported.
The power plant will generate 155 million kilowatt-hours annually, which will reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 140,000 tonnes and coal consumption by 50,000 tonnes. It will create about 500 jobs.
Speaking at the ceremony, Kasymaliev said this project meets growing electricity demand in Kyrgyzstan and demonstrates its commitment to promoting clean energy. The authorities of the Republic are grateful to the Chinese partners for their contribution to strengthening bilateral cooperation.
