President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting at which the healthcare modernisation plans were presented. The 2025 sector budget will include 41 trillion soums to increase pay for healthcare workers, build new hospitals and expand existing health institutions, the press office of the President of Uzbekistan reported.
Primary health care reform of will be a priority. Based on the surveys conducted by Turkish experts in 6 regions, systemic changes are to take place. An advanced training programme for healthcare workers will be reoriented from theory to the acquisition of practical skills.
As part of this reform, it is planned to set up the Centralised Procurement Centre with 13 branches, and electronically monitor the uses of medical equipment. State health insurance will be launched in 6 regions. It is planned to develop 400 clinical protocols and obtain international accreditation for 7 specialised centres and 2 higher educational institutions.
