The Tajik authorities will use special systems to tackle electricity losses. Minister of Energy and Water Resources of the Republic Daler Juma made this statement, Sputnik reports.
He said it is planned to use automatic smart metering systems, which will help significantly reduce commercial losses in electricity distribution systems.
The Minister emphasised that these systems have been tested successfully in Sino district of Dushanbe. The project was implemented thanks to local investors. Juma noted that such initiatives were implemented in the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region and Khujand. Electricity losses in these areas were reduced by 6-8%. It is planned to provide energy consumers with smart electricity meters. The project will be implemented by 2027.
