Agroplatform provides groundwork for digital transformation of Uzbekistan’s agricultural sector

The authorities of the Republic plan to improve the efficiency of agricultural land use in this way.

Uzbekistan is introducing Agroplatform in accordance with the programme of digital transformation in the agricultural sector. The system represents the database of agricultural enterprises in the country, including information on crop areas, production and employment, the press office of the President of Uzbekistan reported.

The platform will help automate the processes of preferential lending for crop cultivation and improve transparency and fairness throughout the agricultural value chain.

Starting from 2024, this system will provide agricultural funding resources through electronic applications from commercial banks.

The Agroplatform project envisages setting up a situation assessment centre that will ensure statistical reliability in the agri-food sector. Furthermore, it is planned to upgrade agricultural geoportals of the regions providing open access to geospatial and analytical data in the agro-industrial sector.
