Uzbekistan to ease visa rules to promote education

The list of countries that will ease the visa rules includes Germany, Canada, Slovakia, New Zealand, Australia and the United Kingdom.

Measures to train specialists for Uzbekistan’s economy were discussed at an extended meeting chaired by Shavkat Mirziyoyev. New enterprises will need 500,000 specialists capable of operating modern equipment over the next 3 years. To this end, the President ordered the visa rules be eased for several developed countries, the press office of the President of Uzbekistan reported.

The President ordered the visa rules be eased for Germany, Canada, Slovakia, New Zealand, Australia and the United Kingdom. The authorities are going to do this for Uzbek citizens willing to receive an education or internship abroad.

The participants paid particular attention to promoting dual education – technical schools in Asaka, Bukhara, Shirin, Guzar and Shakhrisabz are demonstrating successful experience.

It is planned to improve the quality of training at 65 vocational training centres affiliated with the Ministry of Employment, attract grants to stuff these centres with modern equipment and expand language learning programmes. An enabling environment for development will be created for the enterprises that offer dual training programmes.
