Tajikistan and Saudi Arabia strengthen partnerships in agriculture

Joint projects will be implemented in livestock farming, poultry farming, selective breeding and plant disease and pest control.

The Ministry of Agriculture of Tajikistan and the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture of Saudi Arabia signed a Memorandum of Understanding during the meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission in Riyadh. The document is aimed at expanding bilateral cooperation in the agricultural sector, the press office of the Ministry of Agriculture of Tajikistan reported.

The parties agreed to promote partnerships in various agricultural sectors. The key areas of cooperation include selective breeding, livestock farming, poultry farming and plant protection. The parties plan to conduct joint research activities.

The Memorandum envisages boosting agricultural exports and exchanging seed material between the countries. This document supplements the agreement between the chambers of commerce and industry of the two states, creating an integrated framework of bilateral cooperation.
