President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov and President of the Europe Region for Airbus Johan Pelissier discussed the prospects for partnerships in the aviation sector at a meeting in Berlin. The Kyrgyz side said it is ready to promote cooperation with the European company, noting its high technologies and standards, the press office of the President of Kyrgyzstan reported.
The President emphasised the successful implementation of previous projects, including the purchase of aircrafts from the republican budget.
It is planned to purchase 2 Airbus aircraft on lease for the national air carrier Asman Airlines at the new stage of cooperation, with the prospect for further expansion of the fleet.
An important factor contributing to the growth in the aviation sector is the expected exclusion of the Kyrgyz airline companies from the EU Air Safety List next year as a result of the work done to modernise the infrastructure and improve safety standards. This will make it possible to launch direct flights to European capitals.
