President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev visited a military and defence industry exhibition at the Serbian Batajnica Air Base near Belgrade, the press office of the President of Kazakhstan reported.
Tokayev was accompanied by President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic. Serbia, the largest exporter of weapons and military equipment in the region, exports arms to 70 countries, including the United States, Saudi Arabia and Indonesia. The exhibition features ground equipment, helicopters with Serbian weapons, air defence systems, small arms and ammunition.
The parties discussed strengthening cooperation in the defence industry and other areas at the talks held before the exhibition.
«Serbia is a close and reliable partner of Kazakhstan in the Balkans. Our friendship is based on mutual respect and support,» Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev emphasised.
The agreements include joint projects in industry, transport, green energy and IT. Tokayev noted the importance of cultural ties and invited Vucic to visit Kazakhstan in 2024.
