Kyrgyzstan has launched the Three Peaks ski cluster project. In the near future, it is planned to complete preparatory work on the construction sites of an aerial tramway, a water intake, treatment facilities and 2 substations, the press office of the President of Kyrgyzstan reported.
According to forecasts, the project will create 4,800 new jobs. The resorts will operate 10 months a year and receive up to 850,000 tourists annually. President Sadyr Japarov emphasised that the project will not only help attract foreign investment, but will also significantly strengthen the position of Kyrgyzstan in the global tourism market.
Currently, work is underway to create basic infrastructure. By 2030, it is planned to complete the first construction phase that envisages building 60 kilometres of ski slopes, installing 6 aerial tramways and developing tourism infrastructure, including hotels, restaurants and ethnic villages.
