Kazakhstan joined the Declaration to Triple Nuclear Energy by 2050, the press office of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic reported.
Deputy Minister of Energy of Kazakhstan Sungat Yesimkhanov made this statement at the UN Climate Change Conference COP29 in Baku. The representative of the Ministry of Energy took part in the international panel discussion of decarbonization.
«Kazakhstan’s accession to the Declaration to Triple Nuclear Energy by 2050 is our important step towards a sustainable and eco-friendly future,» Sungat Yesimkhanov emphasised.
Kazakhstan joined a number of countries that have endorsed this initiative, including Canada, France, the United Kingdom and Japan, among others. The Republic plans to strengthen cooperation with international partners in peaceful uses of nuclear energy, contributing to sustainable development and global efforts to combat climate change.
